The interweb thingy is a wonderful thingy. It allows you to converse with people, weirdos, foreigners, expats, even weirder weirdos, and robots. Any English-speaking people living in Poland should be aware of the following forums. Each one is inhabited by one group of people who speak English to a greater or lesser extent and another group who speak Polish to a greater or lesser extent. They talk to each other, help each other, exchange gratuitous insults, trade alarming amounts of personal information, and generally have a wild and hoopy time. Be there or be [square]. All of us tremendously cool and happening Polandians are on there in one form or another.
Goldenline’s Anglosphere Forum
It’s on Goldenline,pl, it’s a forum, and it’s in English. There’s a fragrant and exciting mix of English-speaking Poles with all kinds of backgrounds, a quorum of Brits, a bunch of Americans, a sprinkling of Irish people, and even (heaven forbid) a few Kiwis and Aussies. Recent topics include; Warsaw: second most boring city in Europe, Politicians pimps and prostitutes, and Enormous black hole discovered (all strictly unrelated… I hope).
The grandaddy of Polish-English forums. I does exactly what it says on the tin. 8,000 threads, 160,000 posts, and more laughs than you can cope with in a lifetime (ok, I made those figures up, but there are a LOT of them). Recent topics include; Polish mothers-in-law, Polish sayings, and Where do Poland’s non-Jewish victims go? How could you possibly resist?
Poland and Polish Discussion Group and Forum
Long and boring name: but a great place to go. Claims to be the ‘original English language Poland and Polish discussion group board’ and who am I to argue? Recent topics include; Parsnip or parsley, Polish girls “too pretty,” and Exorcisms in Poland. Forums don’t get much better than that people, go there now or you’ll regret it for the rest of your short miserable lives.
More?
Spooky you should post that right now!
I’ve been, still am in fact, an administrator of two forums – one Polish/USA and another UK – but both have changed (or I have) and I’ve decided to move on. I’ve already left the Polish/US one but the UK one I told them I was going yesterday evening. Hence the “spooky”.
I’ll be concentrating on the blogs as I think these are a better forum for anything more than just idle chat. However, I’d like a new place to chat as well.
I’ve had a look at the three you mention and I’ve applied to join the last one.
:)
Glad to be of service :)
What were the names of these other forums, in case somebody else wants to check them out?

How multifarious in this forum are references progressive behind, knavish users?
Can I worthiness all the communication that there is?
